If you are looking for what the essence of Scotland is then the Moray Firth Route is the trip for you. This wonderful scenic route starts off in Inverness and takes you 80 miles north to The Mount on Loch Fleet.
.
This truly is a route for the seascape and landscape photographer, as you wind through unspoilt Highland countryside on the famous Dark Isle you are also spoilt for choice of the seascape views. On route you will have 3 stunning firths to take in the sights, starting off on the Moray Firth where you can spot dolphins and porpoises, you will also pass the Cromarty Firth which holds many of the oil rigs before they go out into The North Sea, finally you will follow along the Dornoch Firth taking in the most breathtaking and untouched parts of the country.
.
You will as with all the other routes in Scotland not be disappointed touring this part of the country and it should be well up on your to-do list. The scenery is truly magnificent, the wildlife is unbelievable and always there for you to see, the people and the hospitality are second to none and I just can’t recommend it enough.
.
My advice is to simply take 3 or 4 days to enjoy this wonderful part of Scotland, just relax and taking everything in.
